Mechanism of Action:
Cloransulam-Methyl is an acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor. Cloransulam-Methyl is a sulfonamide herbicide. It is absorbed by weed leaves and roots, accumulating at growing points. It inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), affecting protein synthesis, halting weed growth and causing weed death. It is used as a stem and foliage spray in soybean fields to control broadleaf weeds.
Uses:
Cloransulam-Methyl is primarily used to control most important broadleaf weeds, such as ragweed, common ragweed, cocklebur, morning glory, and sunflower.
Usage and Dosage
1. Application Period:
Application should be made after the first trifoliate leaf of spring soybeans has unfolded.
For control of the key weed Commelina communis, application should be made when the weed is at the 3-5 leaf stage. If the weed is older, a higher dose within the registered dosage range may be used.
2. Dosage:
The recommended dosage is 30-37.5 g/ha of 84% Cloransulam-Methyl WDG.
Apply for foliar application, diluting the amount with 225-4500 liters of water per ha and applying evenly.
3. Adjuvant Use:
When applying under drought conditions, adding an appropriate amount of silicone adjuvant or methylated vegetable oil adjuvant can help improve herbicide control.
