Usage & Application

Treatment conditions: 1-MCP is applied as a gas in enclosed, airtight environments such as cold storage rooms, controlled atmosphere (CA) storage facilities, refrigerated truck trailers, shipping containers, and sealed greenhouses.

Dosage reference: 1 gram of 1-MCP 3.5% powder is sufficient to treat approximately 15 m³ (about 530 cubic feet) of storage space under sealed conditions. For a standard refrigerated container (approx. 30 m³), only 2 grams are needed.

Application steps:

1. Calculate the required amount based on storage volume (1g per 15 m³)

2. Place the required quantity of 1-MCP powder/sachet in the sealed storage area

3. Add NaOH or warm water to activate and release the 1-MCP gas 

4. Maintain sealed treatment for 12–24 hours at appropriate temperature

5. Ventilate the room before accessing treated produce
